If you love fantasy and enjoy the small details of history, you'll love this book by Louis L'Amour. He's typically a western author, and while I'm not a fan of westerns, I have read a few of his western books and they are still well-written, fact-based, and amazing. His knowledge of the world makes every story come to life. I recommend you read at least one Louis L'Amour book in your lifetime.   hide

Classic Louis. He definitely needed to do more historical fiction

A very rare piece of historic fiction.

Amazing adventure book. Takes you back Old Spain & all over. And coffee houses!! Then there is the Princess Sundari. This is my favorite book of Louis L'Amour, I have read over 30 of his books.

I really, really liked this book! I would never have imagined that I would like a Louis L'Amour book. But it's not a western. Very good book.

I could not put this book down. It transported me to the twelfth century. I learned a lot and was inspired by the hero's honesty and daring spirit. One of the ways in which the book is inspirational is that emphasizes a love of learning which proves useful over and over. The hero fully engages situations with both his mind and his body, both of which he is always trying to improve.
