L'Amour is always a fun read and this book was no exception. A breezy 184 pages with some nice historical detail. I ordered the movie from netflix, starring Sam Elliot. I am going to do Hondo next and then the John Wayne movie. It's always fun to compare the book to the movie.

Classic western tale. A frontiersman assists a family of greenhorns across the plains as they are harassed by a gang of outlaws and beset by Indians and the wilderness itself.
