One of the most moving books I have ever read. It is about human tradegies and hope that allows people to survive. The historical background makes the impact of the story even greater. The "magic" plot that does not really soften the story makes you realize that it is unbearable to think about real tragedies that happened in this country.
This was a really good book. I had to read it for a Latin America history class and it was a nice change of pace from a textbook. It is a really fast read and I could not put it down. I hear it was made into a movie but I have not yet seen it...
