more This early novella from Connie Willis is much darker, and, well, serious than most of her others. A convincing vision of the Hollywood of the future, where thanks to computer tech, no actual movies are made anymore - they just CGI remakes with patented dead actors (James Dean and River Phoenix are the favorites). Filled with references to classic movies, there's a mystery, and a romance of sorts, but the main character is nastier than any other Willis hero. A bit of a jolt to my expectations, but I enjoyed the book for its meticulously worked out future vision of Hollywood, and very its interesting plot. And all the references to old Fred Astaire movies!
