Lyrical. Bishop is a master of language and weaves the harsh landscapes into an oil painting of colour, sights and sounds to a point where it is so palatable this does not feel like a fantasy novel.
Lovely. I got this book as a part of an exchange. It's one of those books where you're not quite sure where it's going until the end pulls all the threads together.
Beautiful, dreamy, haunting; makes other Fantasy settings look like immature, noisy places in comparison. Simply an outstanding book, which I'm drawn to read and reread from time to time.
So where's the story? This would be a "slice-o-life" story. No adventure, no romance, nothing. This follows two characters for a small portion of their lives.
No purpose.
