An emotional drama of 3 first generation Indian women settled in America where they sowed the seeds of their dreams and the sprouts..well didn't quite turn out to be what they expected. Its about how these 3 women who find peace by fighting and ultimately killing their inner demons from their painful childhoods inflicted by India-Pakistan partition, fight with father and cancer. Also, the story revolves around the lives of their 3 daughters trying to deal with their American-Indian identities, search for a soul mate, dealing with binge-eating and finding creativity fighting depression that has plagued the family.   hide

This is a fun read , nothing particularly gripping as there are too many parallel stories going on and as a reader I lost track of the characters !!!! Very confusing, a muddle of stories and charecters !!! An easy read though and some good recipes :-)

So far so good!

I couldn't stop talking about the book to everyone I knew.... a joy to read and the recipies simple and delicious...
