I found this book very strange.  Definitely want to keep going onto volume two.  The writing style is pretty unique and although the paragraphs are very long, they were intriguing enough to get through.  Definitely enjoyed it, Hope vol 2 wraps some of the loose ends up.

This book just bored me. I gave up about 2/3 the way through. Way too many good books out there to waste time on ones you don't enjoy. It started out pretty good, but as it progressed I found myself enjoying it less and less.

an exciting victorian mystery/adventure with strange scientific/sexual goings on...i loved it!
On to volume 2...
I have been waiting for paperback since 2006...the dirty rats actually split the hard cover into two trade books...shameless cash grab...but I bought them anyway...

Good but no ending, should just be one volume.
Definitely half a book.  Nice and suspenseful,  but no conclusion.

FABULOUS! The series is hard to put down. Very original story. Suffers from unedited wordiness and excessive escapes from the villans, but despite those shortcomings this book (Vol 1 and 2) is worth your time
