Was Swithin supposed to be evil? The characters kept saying that, but there was little evidence. Plot devices were left untied (Swithin borrowing the cart... that was never explained away.) I'm no mystery buff, more of a Jane Austen fan, but compared to the first two which I could not put down, this one was just so so. Left scratching my head, but will read #4 and hope these elements return to the par of books 1 and 2.
