The characters are getting more fleshed out. Again, similar to Diana Gabaldon books, but the characters are not as well developed.

I didn't like that the "survival/outdoors" thing was gone in this book because they went to scotland. I cried because my favorite character in the book dies towards the end. Also, we find out Nathanel had a lovechild with a slutty woman from his 20s and never knew it! There is an adorable little girl Hannah befriends in Scotland and who shows up in later books. Another great read in the Wilderness series. But not quite as good as the first.

Not as good as the 1st book in the series, but still very interesting.

The further I get into this series, the more I like it!

Another awesome book! I started reading these when I finished all of the Diana Gabaldon novels
