I rarely keep thrillers or horror books because most don't bear re-reading.  But the scene where the guy is in a cupboard and these mad monkeys are right near him always makes me bite my knuckles. This book is a keeper - the suspense is great. I am a massive fan of Koontz even tho' his later books are a bit full of cute labradors and sweet homilies - but he has a great way of...more
 I rarely keep thrillers or horror books because most don't bear re-reading.  But the scene where the guy is in a cupboard and these mad monkeys are right near him always makes me bite my knuckles. This book is a keeper - the suspense is great. I am a massive fan of Koontz even tho' his later books are a bit full of cute labradors and sweet homilies - but he has a great way of mixing sci fi with genetics and quantum physics and psychiatry and all sorts of fun stuff.   hide
