beginning of the series. a British X-Files team formed in WWII to investigate odd cases. interesting premise and decent writing. Definitely enough character interest and plot pacing to keep you interested.

Bryant and May are a pefect match! Interesting thriller set mainly in a wartime theatre but with a modern mystery too..illuminating!

 Full Dark House is an unusual police procedural mystery and the first in the May and Bryant series by Christopher Fowler. Fowler weaves together two mysteries as he details elderly May and Bryantâ€™s first case in 1940 and the current one befallen their Peculiar Crimes Unit. Spiritualist alternatives and the legend of Orpheus are delved into when the body of a dancer is found without feet in a London theatre and the Peculiar Crimes Unit office is blown up. A good story with interesting history and twists that leaves the reader satisfied but not blown away.   hide
