I found the first two Brian Herbert books (Harkonnen and Atreides) poor but enjoyable. The more I read the worse they got. I found Corrino to be a pretty awful book, with many inconsistencies with the original Frank Herbert books, and generally very poorly written. I would avoid these books if you want to continue to think about the Dune universe without cringing.

Can't we get a restraining order or something to prevent Brian Herbert from publishing books? A full public apology should also be in order. His transgressions against one of the greatest writers (sci-fi or otherwise) of all time is basically unforgivable. Needless to say, anything that has the word Dune and Brian on the cover should be avoided like a leaper with the plague on the sex...more
