Outstanding novel of organised crime & police corruption set in Mumbai against a pastiche of India's multiracial, multicultural society, poverty, modern history and terrorist activities. Perhaps too long with many diversions but overall this can be forgiven for the tremendous atmosphere created and the memorable characters.
