more I have to say I LOVE all the discworld novels in which Death plays a lead role. He is SUCH a wonderful character and Pratchett builds him perfectly. This novel really personalises death in a way that I am not sure would be possible in anything other than the Discworld. Death has gotten the sack and is sent to earth to live out his last days as a mortal. But he can't quite get it right and his interactions with others are full of awkward moments as he tries to come to terms with the funny habits humans seem to have.
