This book was amazing for 4 major reasons, them being: 1. Not coming out with the truth at the scene of the crime, creating a chain of horrible events. causing once best friends to become helpless, alone, and very uninformed on the truth to the situation at hand. When I was in the first few chapters of the book, I assumed it would be like other books I'd read on a similar topic, but I was wrong. Yes, I admit it: just when I thought Sarah Dessen was going to get predictable and cliche on me, my thoughts were turned upside down. Just Listen is a very good novel, very well-written. I did like this book. However, there were specific things in this book that I didn't like, and I wouldn't recommend this book because of it. There were multiple uses of the "F" word plus a "B", slut, whore, and God's name in vein. Also, there are mentions of "mayan spiritual chants", and it's "spiritual enlightment"... not faith. There was some really good stuff in this book. i like though its depressing how annabel was playing a popular girl in a commercial, but then in real life she was shunned. Its an eyeopener know that there are things like the middlechild syndrom, and knowing about eating disorders and stuff. it was a lovely sisterly bond book, and also i loved owens personality is amazing and how he's so life...more

I really liked this book, and I liked the insight that it gave to her family. Because families in books always come off so surreal, and this one just seemed real to me. Their problems were real and everybody acted the way you would in a sitiuation like Whitney's eating disorder.
