I absolutely love this book!!! Owen is my favourite of the Dessen boys :)

Wow! I love this book... SO much! great read.

very fast moving,fast paced book. Many interesting and dynamic characters.

It's everything I love and have been looking for in a book. Music and love. That's what I'm talking about.

This book was amazing for 4 major reasons, them being: 1. This book was amazing for 4 major reasons, them being: 1. Not coming out with the truth at the scene of the crime, creating a chain of horrible events. causing once best friends to become helpless, alone, and very uninformed on the truth to the situation at hand. All of this goes on in reality, which makes it completely relateable. i mean things happen that we are embarassed of, and we're afraid people won't beleive us anyway, so we hide them, and in return we get cut off from our 'social life' no one is there anymore, because we won't speak out. 2. Our parent's sometimes want for their children what makes THEM (the parents) happy. not always the kids. many kids go through that now, their involved in activities they don't want to be in, in order to keep their parents happy. another reason why this book is relatable. 3. Sick of that cliche romance?? look no further friends. this is far from cliche, its realistic. when i was reading about the relationship between owen and annabel, and watching it unfold, i thought to myself "this is typically what it's like..." yep. enough said there. 4. Sometimes our parents are more wrapped up in other siblings affairs rather than your's. it happens all the time. unless your an only child... RELATEABLE....READ IT!   hide

Actually a lot better than I expected. I avoided reading this book for the longest time because when I first picked it up, I figured it was going to be one of those "girl has horrible life then meets boy who instantly changes her life". But when I finally relented and started reading it, I was pleasantly surprised that it was not as cut and dry as I thought. There were times that I wanted to kill some of the characters (namely Sophie), but the truth is, I really enjoyed this book.   hide

i adored this book. couldn't get it off my mind even after i finished. its not cliche, like at ALL, and totally realistic. and sarah dessen just has that way of writing that's just so...meaningful, for lack of a better word. what annabelle goes through, and how she keeps it all inside for fear of what others may think or choose to believe, is really understandable, so what she learns by the end...more

When I was in the first few chapters of the book, I assumed it would be like other books I'd read on a similar topic, but I was wrong. Yes, I admit it: just when I thought Sarah Dessen was going to get predictable and cliche on me, my thoughts were turned upside down. Just Listen is a very good novel, very well-written. The supporting characters are very good, I think, each with their own set of circumstances that manage to, as always, teach Anabelle (the main character) a lesson. I'm not a fan of reviews, as they tend to give away the plot and the ending, but I will say: -Sarah Dessen manages to teach a moral lesson without being preachy, as she flawlessly does in many of her books. -I feel like I've seen this main character before with her actions and the way she responds to situations. -We see characters from her previous books, which I adore. In conclusion, Just Listen was a wonderful read. It will affect you, if not with the main plot, than in many of the subplots. A wonderful book. Seems pretty predictable so far, but we'll see where it goes.   hide
