I LOVE John Douglas. He's pretty much a genius and he does a great job of giving a good overview of some of the most famous murders - but there's always more to read!! It's a good book to get your background from, and then move onto specialized books.

if you like crime shows or reading about unsolved mysteries/crimes, you will love this book. the writer gives you all the evidence so you can decide yourself who the perpetrator was

Utterly fascinating. Douglas, using his many years as an FBI profiler, goes through cases that have not been completely solved, from Jack the Ripper to Jon-Benet Ramsey.

Another fav of mine.  In this book, John Douglas walks us through some of the biggest cases that were investigated by the FBI.  He also includes analysis of other cases which took place before he became a member of the FBI.  Very insightful -- his intelligence is amazing.  Excellent read!
