The first time I read it, I was scared to open my second story window! I was still reading until long after dawn passed!

The best horror book. The very first real novel I ever read, I read it when I was eleven years old. I still read or skim the best parts every year at Halloween. The scene where the vampire leaves the letter in the basement on the coffin of Ben Mears' turned girlfriend, addressing each hunter by name - it still gives me the creeps.

A truly scary Vampire novel.

Chilling in creating the atmosphere, but the author tends to lose focus on the several characters: this ends up in trying to fix loose ends too quickly.

Excellent vampire yarn, which I really enjoyed. The situation escalates nightly as the vampires multiply. I love the number of characters and side stories that King writes about. Highly recommended. Never mind Twilight, read this!

Without a doubt, one of the best vampire books I've ever read! I don't think I've ever been more freaked out by a story and believe me, I read a lot of scary books adn watch horror movies all the time. King is a master in his craft!

Perfect! Vampires are not supposd to be loved (Sorry to all Twilight fans..) they are supposed to be staked! I like the fact that Stephen King raised the evil factor on vampires.
