V.C. Andrews, author of the phenomenally successful Dollanganger series, has created a fascinating new cast of characters in this haunting story of love and deceit, innocence and betrayal, and the suffocating power of parental love. Audrina Adare wanted so to be as good as her sister. She knew her father could not love her as he loved her sister. Her sister was so special, so perfect -- and dead. Now she will come face to face with the dangerous, terrifying secret that everyone knows. Everyone except... My Sweet Audrina less
Though I am not a huge fan (the later works were not so good) her early stuff (probably because she actually wrote them rather than a ghost writer), such as My Sweet Audrina, were really good. This is a sad and thoroughly twisted story.
Can you imagine trying to live up to the legacy of your dead and perfect older sister who you were named after? Well that's the reality for Audrina.
On top of that there is a dark secret regarding the first Audrina's death which everyone but the second Audrina knows about.
One of the most bizarre plot lines ever. An almost romance novel, were it not for the rape. A clumsy evil sister with fragile bones who trips and has an immediate miscarriage? Apparently you can erase some one's memory by inducing sleep and changing the clocks. A waste of a good week and a half when I was in fourth grade.
