Gone South is one of those books that stays with you long after you read the final page. I was crushed when he stopped writing after this book. At the time I figured he was walking away at the top of his game, but he came back better than ever.
A down on his luck Vietnam vet finds himself on the run after killing a loan manager set on repoing the only asset he has: his truck. Down to the swampland of southern Louisiana he goes with two oddball bounty hunters on his trail.
