Fascinating look at print media coverage of the Civil Rights movement. Well-deserved winner of Pulitzer Prize in History, 2007.

Short on analysis, it asserts rather than proves the role of the press in the civil rights movement--but the "war stories" alone make it worth reading.

The book is deemed as a "must-read" for all aspire journalists. I thought it was long and boring. A large segment of this book concentrates in one minority group, while leaves out all others. PR is another outlet of journalism, except it is so much more fun to read and write about!
