A captivating Sci-fi adventure related to Time travel.Informative and gripping.You see both high tech present(which is actually futuristic as time travel has not yet been achieved)and classic old French wars.Its a great combo of fiction,history,scientific concepts and human value. Excellent read.

Liked it a lot better than the movie...the explanation of the quantum mechanics involved and the fact that it's not time travel, per se, versus stepping through layers of the multiverse. Unusually so for fiction, it includes an extensive bibliography of the academic titles Crichton consulted in writing this piece-impressive.

I think I might have rated this a 4* on a different day. Despite the technology at the core of the story, the main plot points are more historical in nature. I found the focus on that particular time and place (medieval or dark ages England) really interesting.

Great story from the author of Jurassic Park. Plot moved along well, good character development, all the good stuff in a great read. I hope to watch the movie sometime. www.timelinemovie.com
