The World According to Garp (Modern Library) (Modern Library)

I love this book. I love these characters. I love how goofy it can get. It is so, so, so good. I love the movie too. READ THE BOOK FIRST, if you plan on seeing the film. The book is much larger than the film.

one of my favorite books so bizarre but so potentially realistic. LOVE IT!

It starts out okay but then it just drags on and on. 1/3 of the way into it and I still couldn't see where it was trying to go or what story the author was trying to tell. There is too much 'wordy talk' that tries to build a character into the character and hardly any dialogue. I finally called it quits before finishing the first half and I'll probably not pick it back up again.

The best of Irving's books, in my opinion, and one of my all-time favorites.

Classic Irvin. A story that comes back to memory many times.

had to read it three times to get it, and now find it hilarious and deep. great book!
