Continuing in my obsession with Chinese authors, this book doesn't disappoint. Funny, poignant, a quick worthwhile read.

I was first introduced to The Woman Warrior when I was in high school. I loved reading it so much that I read it again in college and had a completely new/different experience! I love how Kingston seamlessly weaves the past stories of her female ancestors, as well as the those of Chinese mythology and folklore, with the story of her own life. I was first introduced to The Woman Warrior when I was in high school. I loved reading it so much that I read it again in college and had a completely new/different experience! I love how Kingston seamlessly weaves the past stories of her female ancestors, as well as the those of Chinese mythology and folklore, with the story of her own life. What a beautiful way to better understand the present and put life into perspective - by relating it to the women warriors that came before Kingston.   hide

Read on vacation. Haunting. Maybe best read under sunny tropical skies as it was a bit depressing.

Definately a different book to read. Be prepared to use your imagination while reading this book.
