wow, what a voice. great, great stuff.

Carver is a great writer of short stories. He does a great job of capturing a dark mood and creating subtext. I think the common theme in all his stories (in this collection and others) is that there is an elephant in the room (even when it is po...orly defined) and people talk around it. The one downside of Carver is that all his songs do seem to be played in the same key.

It's my main inspiration when I write. Beautiful and agonizing.
