Cathedral

Carver is the American short story, in my opinion. There are peripherals--booze, TV, kids, air conditioning--but his vignettes always drill down to people who are decoupled from those around them. He perceives so much in mundane conversation and silence, too. Stop and think after each one, and you'll see what I mean.

Though Raymond Carver is very famous. His book didn't introduced into China until now. That really made me want to be a book publisher in China by myself.

An absolute delight in every page. Must be read for the stories, then again for the writing. Carver was simply a genius in what he did. A must read for anyone going into writing, and a great read in general. Its been a long time since I enjoyed a book this much.
