This is Nabokov's original Lolita - written some 10 years earlier, in russian, and more efficiently embodying his concepts of perversion and cruelty.

absolutely the best book i ever read. nabokovs language is so wonderful, i read the sentences a couple of times just because they are so breathtaking beautiful.

"Dancer" as a love story.  Too harsh for words, for film.  It's all in this book.  In my opinion the most perfect piece of literature ever.  I spent the next week in a ward.  At least kill a small animal before reading this.  It's torture.  I wouldn't recommend it.  But I haven't read anything better.
