No Exit and Three Other Plays

How an existentialist got hell correct! Very ironic...

not usually one for plays, but quite the reads imop. particularly enjoyed 'the flies'

I have only read No Exit, and it is awesome! It is a short play about three people that are in hell together living in a house. In order to get out of hell, they have to be honest with each other and tell their stories of why they are there. The play is about self realization, honesty, and is filled with dark humor, and overall truth. The characters are not allowed to look into mirrors, because the story is about having someone else judge and view you. In the play, you discover, a lesbian, a coward, and a girl obsessed with vanity, and a love triangle begins to form! So exciting! I wish that this could have been longer, it was a great, and fun play.   hide

Loved "No Exit".

The first play is quite creepy. Sartre gives his account of three people in his version of what hell might be like.

I first read "The Flies" my sophomore year of college. I picked up this book again and read all of it, and I love it.
