Amazing personal history of Wole Soyinka's childhood growing up in Nigeria- he talks about things like eating food in the market place, nicknaming his parents, the struggle between tribal culture and Christianity, the women's movement lead by his mother, and many other wow things.

This book is the ultimate magical realism, however the writing is sort of clustered in a cerebral sort of way with radiant bursts of sunshine.
