The Stories of Valdimir Nabokov

Amazing... his stories are as good as his novels, although I still feel primarily he is better as a novelist.... But there is some great work here.

Best collection of short stories I've ever read.

Nobokov is great for the carefully selected details he puts into each one of his scenes and characters. Really a master of the english language.

Nabokov short stories are vignettes that are more vivid than reality. In the 10 minutes it takes to read one, you immediately experience a complex and multi-layered world rich in senses and driven with story and are spit back out again as abruptly as you entered.

He describes beautifully. The way people think, react, and interact with others are all shown in a new and interesting light.

So far I only have read the first story but it was good of course. I love this author. I love his prose.

Thank god Nabokov's genius does not end with Lolita. Here is an almost complete collection to fully indulge in. Beautiful, expressive, and anything but ambiguous to help with the after pangs of little Dolly.
