very detailed, if you are into this type of thing you will enjoy it, it is form 1991 so plenty has happened, but the concept is still valid.

I'm sorry I did not complete reading the whole book, probably because I'm not an engineer and there are lot more books waiting for me. I would expect the writer to disclose cases about changing failure cases into positive learning lessons. His description of those cases seem repeatedly warning the readers that there's no single long lasting building nor infrastructure. My gosh! He...more

Sometimes as Engineers the design can seem flawless on paper but then can prove otherwise once the foundation has been established. This book goes into why some successful designs still failed; like the Tacoma Narrow Bridge.
