Lovingly retold and a wonderful tale of everyday people. As always his characterisation is astounding and for a Mistry fan its all the more sweet.

this is the third novel I've read and although not as good as 'A Fine Balance' it's still pretty damn fine.

This book reminded me of Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie. It tried to relate events in the everday life of the main characters to what was happening in India at the time, except that Rushdie's book was more mystical.
I really enjoyed it.
