more This was my second attempt to read this book. For some reason the first couple chapters, although intriguing, weren't able to hook me. This time I made myself drive on and I'm so glad I did. This story is up there with The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle and A Wild Sheep Chase. The chapters swap between two realities in which the protagonist simultaneously exists, although he's unaware of it. I wanted to finish each chapter as quick as possible so I could find out what's being discovered in the other world. I can't even really describe how awesome this book was. If you've read Murakami before then you know what I'm talking about. The end was exactly what was expected to happen, which was completely unexpected. A little known fact: real unicorns were more akin to a deer than the story book horse unicorns that we are taught about.
