Ok, I'm almost done, so slow since I re read and try to get the words between the lines! He is the most subtle and deep writer I have ever read, brilliant. The two fav lines so far are short and sweet, whereas the long stuff is nice, but taxing.
I would give him an award for these profound fourth section comments while talking with the aunt: "Virgins, bulls, men. Ultimately God himself" is by far the summary of the entire book, Mexican culture, and cowboy stigma. Never thought something would be better than Lonesome Dove's repetition of the 'poke' by Robert Duval in the movie, but this is the winner!
