One of the best books I've ever read in my life, that is still relevant with its poetic and unflinching look at relationships, racism, sexism, and the unvarnished politics of sexuality. No one writes like Baldwin and no one ever will. His work is always startling, personal, powerful and violent, but most of all still revealing about the struggle to be human and happy.
