Nicholas Negroponte wrote this in the early nineties and it's absolutely prophetic in the way he accurately predicts how atoms will transform to bits. Nicholas Negroponte wrote this in the early nineties and it's absolutely prophetic in the way he accurately predicts how atoms will transform to bits. An example is Compact Disc with music to digital music over the internet, or Books being digitized. But he also goes into many other interesting ideas such as hypermedia and technology that can extrapolate data from frames of video to interpolate missing visual data. Also his ideals about "breadth and depth" are great. The idea of having information as broad or as atomic as we need to be is revolutionarily convenient.   hide

Questo è un libro che ha fatto storia. Forse oggi risulta un po' datato su alcune idee ed opinioni che il tempo ha superato, ma quando venne pubblicato offrì una visione decisamente innovativa le cui ripercussioni si vedono oggi su com'è Internet e cosa sono diventati i computer per la società moderna.

This book was brilliant. Curious to read it again, 15 years later to see what I would think about it at present.
