A collection of short stories based in a Parsi apartment complex in Mumbai.. the characters are very real and some of the stories are really touching.. i particularly liked 'The Collectors' and 'Of White Hairs and Cricket'..

These stories all stand on their own but by reading each one you get to know all the neighbours in this housing complex one at a time with all their quirks. The characters are lovable believable and understandable. Even when they do strange things the reader understands their motivation. At the end of the book you have almost become part of their community

I really like the way he has told 11 short intersecting stories of life inside a Bombay apartment building.

Mistry takes us into the quotidian as well as the sublime of the Parsee life in Bombay..truly mesmerising..
