Read it quickly. Well written fantasy of what might have been. Book expresses longing for a time in aviation history when adventure was prominent not baggage fees.

I liked how the narration kept moving back and forth between a first hand narration by Amelia, and a third person narration by the author. The plot was an interesting twist to a possible scenario to what could have happened to this great heroine. And, it was described from a very dreamy and passionate state of mind.

just the sort of book i like: lusciously written prose, imaginative story, and a deep, quiet heroine.

She's been my hero since age nine.. loved this quasi-fictionalized account of the events leading up to her disappearance

Interesting concept but it just didn't come together for me. It's a quick read about an amazing woman. In this book, Amelia as lands safely on a deserted island and is stranded there with her navigator and a fictional story about their time on the island unfolds. This has peaked my curiosity. I would love to learn more about Amelia Earhart and her real life.

I had trouble with this book. The quick switches from third person to first made the entire thing seem like a dream, and never involved me in their lives. While the use of language was interesting, I found myself skipping sentences and, finally, paragraphs because nothing of substance got said. My copy of the book was one my sister had given to my mother in 1996, and was autographed by the...more
