I completeley LOVED this book, it is mesmerizing, funny (yeahp,in a cruel way), tragic. I couldn't stop reading it, page after page it kept me interested and curious of what was going to happen. I felt also identified with the dominican expressions and mentality described on this book (as I am dominican). It's a real piece of jewerly.

In terms of structure, a very interesting book. Very different. The story itself, though, isn't great, and there are parts that are just plain seedy. In terms of structure, a very interesting book. Very different. The story itself, though, isn't great, and there are parts that are just plain seedy. I'm honestly still not sure why it won a Pulitzer. It's got to be the uniqueness of it's structure, because the story is boring at best. I stopped halfway through and can't seem to inspire myself to continue. The structure of the book is magnificent and absolutely Pulitzer worthy. The story itself is unremarkable, and the style is unappealing. It's a great book to look at new directions in structure, but not a great read. My rating is a happy medium. The read is a one or two star experience (tops), but the structure is solid five stars. In then end, I've given it a three. Paré a la mitad y no logro inspirarme para terminarlo. La estructura del libro está genial y definitivamente merece el Pulitzer que se ganó. El cuento en sí no es nada especial, y el estilo no es agradable. Es un libro excelente para contemplar nuevas maneras de estructurar una novela; pero no es un libro "rico". Así que le doy un 5 por la estructura y un 1.5 por el cuento.   hide

UNA AUTOBIOGRAFIA ANODINA, PERO UN ENTORNO SOCIAL Y FAMILIAR MÁS COMPLEJO E INTERESANTE ESTÁ BIEN PARA PASAR EL RATO, PERO NO ENGANCHA DEMASIADO ESCRITO EN LENQUAJE MUY COLOQUIAL, UNA BIOGRAFIA ALGO TURBIA, PERO NO DEMASIADO APASIONANTE
