I've read this over and over and over. It's like putting myself in a trance.

Okay, this was written by a Western man and it shows. However, it is an interesting story once you get beyond the fact that this woman would probably have been shunned by her society. So, bless his heart. Arthur Golden meant well and told an entertaining, albeit, inaccurate story.

one thing my perception let me deduce from this novel is that it doesn't matter what you have got......what matters is what you make of what you've got........ beautifully written, lucid and powerfully moving, it will teach you and make you cry at the same time PS: somehow it reminded me of persuasion by austen
