used to own it, lost it .one of the most well written characters..........can't say whether it is due yo the author's style of writing , but the characters seem so real and alive, u've feel u know them ......

The cruelty that David suffers is incredulous until the reader learns that many children of Dickens' day suffered similar abuses, (including Dickens himself who based part of this book on his own childhood), as he was forced to work in the blacking factory to support his parents who were perpetually...more
