A Day No Pigs Would Die

I've read and re-read this book more times than I can count...my very favourite, haunting story. Every character from Bob and Bib to Haven Peck are perfectly written.

I read it on my way home from the Bahamas.

Have it on my shelf at school. Oh my. I hope no parents want it banned. I would fight for this one. Very moving!

I liked how much detail was put into this book.

Makes me cry every time I read it.

a lovely story about a father that put food on the table for him and his family by slaughtering pigs. they were very poor. he had a 10 year old son, i think. who didn't like the idea of slaughtering pigs. the father was a very well known man in his tinny village and the day he passed away, everyone went to his funeral, which meant that no pigs were to be killed that day. a very emotional story
