Closing Time

The sequel to Catch 22 is.... shit.

Too many sentences that rambled on much too long. I was forced to reread many sentences wondering what the subject was, where the verb was. And a reader is forced to search for the connections between the chapters. A good premise but not an easy read. Also, the central joke of the book got tiresome early on but continued and intensified in the later chapters.

Good sequel to Catch 22. This time the characters from the original and a few new ones are fighting the onset of time instead of war. There is a more tragic element to this one, less of the trademark humour of the first but still as savage as it's predecessor.

Interesting and with a few good points - but admittedly a tad boring. Found myself hoping it would end soon when I was getting near the end.
