Undaunted Courage : Meriwether Lewis, Thomas Jefferson, and the Opening of the American West

This is still an amazing story and Ambrose makes it an interesting read. It includes a lot of the original journals, but Ambrose primarily summarizes the information to make it more readable. If you have any interest in how the West was discovered, this is a must-read!

Fascinating story well-told, although Ambrose occasionally can't resist judging Lewis by today's social standards.

So very easy to read! It's like reading a novel. Ambrose was the best at taking dry old history and making it interesting. Well worth the read!
