Catch 22

It was a tough read at first - the print in my version is tiny, and Heller's prose is wacky. But a deployment to the middle-of-no-where Australia helped me get through this one. I really enjoyed the black humor, and eventually the writing style became second nature. This is undoubtedly a "great American Novel". The movie is great too...

Funny, witty, esoteric, and abstract book that embodies Modernism to the fullest. A very long read, but a very worthwhile and hilarious (yet bitterly subversive) text.

Not a bad book, however it was little to vulgar in some ways for my taste.

A bit depressing at some points along the line but all in all a very good book about the human fight for survival
