I was very pleased with this book. It was the reality of a boy who learned how to survive. In the beginning it started a little slow, but got moving right after that. Suspense was filled through-out the whole book. Inferences had to made, which is very healthy for a reader. If you take your time in reading this book, you'll be rather pleased. As was I. I have always really enjoyed Hatchet - ever since I first read it in the fifth-grade. It was a nice summer, quick read to get my mind off of things. Plus, it makes for a great book to use for an elementary/middle school classroom project.

this book is so well-written. I didn't think I'd actually enjoy it, but I definitely got sucked in. I think I read this when I was in 4th grade, so it was definitely awhile ago!

I just don't like this book. It bothers me. It's really not my kind of novel. Boring, and all about the wild. If you want to read a GOOD book from this genre, try "On The Other Side Of The Mountain." It's much beter!
