As for Anya, she just wants her hair to grow back, but no one, not even the doctors, knows whether it ever will. How can she come to terms with her disease when she can't even look in the mirror? In this heart-tugging story of friendship, renowned author Margaret Peterson Haddix introduces readers to a young girl with alopecia areata, a life-altering disease that affects millions of people in the United States alone. less
This book changed my life. After completing this novel I decided to donate my hair to Locks of Love for little girls like Anya. You will be changed by this short, but exceptionally written book by Haddix. This author changed my Life!!!
The cutest, sadest story I have read about a young girl who has to be brave and know that this is the way she is and always will be. Totally "goose-bump" worthy when she gets help from an unexpected source!
An amazing book about the courage it takes to fight a horrible disease. Maybe not a life threating disease but how would you like to have to wear a wig everyday to school with the fear of it falling off, and it does!
