The Woman Who Rides Like a Man (The Song of the Lioness)

I love all of the stories that come from the realm of Tortal. Alanna's story was the first I read and I was inspired and moved by the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual journeys she took in this book. I've read it more than once and I could read it many times more. I really enjoy the style of Tamora Pierce's writing and how she tells her stories. Her books sing to my soul. ~Angel

The love affair with Jon was not to my liking. It wasn't because Jon was a bad character, it was the exact opposite. When he was in love with Aly, I found him so awfully easy to hate. She wrote him in such a way that I, personally, did not like him. The book is still very good, though.
