The audiobook version is well performed, well read, and I particularly enjoyed the readers, their accents, and voice inflections.

When will Ms Lahiri move beyond Bengalis living in the US and having American spouses and/or spoilt kids??

jhumpa lahiri has portrayed a true picture of the indians living overseas in her short stories with so many intricate details...this is the book which in reality speaks about trials and tribulations of people...no matter where they live..great book..and i would love to read it again!!!!

If I hadn't read Namesake and Interpreter of Maladies, the rating would be higher than two stars. While there are parts of this collection of short stories that shine, it is essentially just a regurgitation of her previous works.

its indeed more mature and intriguing than her earlier works which were fantastic too........the stories are fantastically written.i especially loved the story of kaushik and hema....even i dont mind her writing about bengalis in america as long as she keeps giving us the kinda of stories she has been.

if you read Interpreter of Maladies (which won the pulitzer for fiction, people!) then you will definitely love love love this series of short stories.more lyrical, more mind grasping, more heart wrenching, more though provoking, regardless of critics saying she needs to move out of her comfort zone of writing about bengalis living in america, surburbia, abcds, etc. its good.nothing is wrong with...more
