The Nine: Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court

A nice look inside the court that puts some real people within the black robes. I've heard criticism, however, that Toobin has overwritten some of the events he describes.

This is a look a recent history through the lens of the Supreme Court. I learned a lot about the Court and the Justices. I also never knew how influential Sandra Day O'Connor really was on the Supreme Court until I read the book.

This is a truly excellent foray into the lives of the Supreme Court Justices and the Constitutional interpretations they make. It was a surprisingly easy read and was a great tool to recussitate my studies on constitutional law. Surprisingly a fantastic read! Loved the inside gossip though one (liberal minded) is left with a sense of despair as the residing justices ideologies have moved in the favor of the far right...

Toobin's crisp narrative paints a picture of the members of the Supreme Court whose individual idealogies sometime compromise their impartiality from the bench; a fascinating portrait of the men and women of the Supreme Court and the political forces that placed them there.

A page-turner but a terrifying end if you are of the liberal persuasion as the author obviously is.

Enjoyable and gossipy.
